learn from the Internet Librarian conference
The Internet Librarian conference is sponsored by Information Today and happens every October. It is similar to Computers in Libraries here on the east coast in April.
This year, the theme was "Beyond 2.0: User-Focused Tools & Practices."
While being f2f with people and talking to them usually has the most value, we can still check out a lot of what happened there:
Check out the following things with the IL2008 tag:
- presentations on SlideShare
- the InfoToday blog
- Technorati (blog posts)
- Flickr for pictures
- links on Delicious
- FriendFeed
- conversations on Twitter
I was most upset to have missed seeing danah boyd speak, but Jenica has an excellent summary of her keynote.
Things on my radar:
Fostering Innovation
Solving the Reference Desk Problem / Reference on the Go: Txt messaging and more
The One Person Project Management Team
Solving the Interest Problem
