Early concepts for the AskUsNow! logo, January/February 2003
Yesterday I was just looking through my "Marketing" folder associated with the Maryland AskUsNow! project and found a really old file that I thought might be worth sharing. This depicts some of the early concepts for the AskUsNow! logo in January/February 2003, before the March 2003 launch of the service. None of these logos ever came to be used.
The all-seeing eyeball image kept popping up then. Here's another one that's a little closer to what was eventually used. The font of "askusnow!" is right, but we hadn't settled on the yellow oval in the background yet.
How would this last one have looked on a highlighter keychain?

Despite the fact that I don't like being called a "human search engine" (there's odd connotations and expectations attached to it), I love these logos!
Esp. the off-kilter green shape!!!
What do we think about broadening our logo? Maybe we could have a "geometric series" with different background shapes & colors w/ the txt being the same... perhaps they could auto-reload on the website so ppl would see a slightly different one each time they came in?
Just thinking out loud but I am totally stealing "Get the answer... w/o hassling with 'search results'"
:-)
